Desert, also known as IV or Level 4, is the 4th level in Rolling Sky. It introduced the Desert theme and it is the first level that includes blocks and a new type of laser that is called Big Laser. The main theme of this level is Snowhill.
Trivia[]
- This level didn't have a name in the initial release. It was then named Desert in the 8Bits update because it uses the Desert theme.
- This is one of the levels shown in the official trailer, the other two being Massif and Forest/Old.
- Both the Snowhill and Desert themes can refer to real-world deserts, just different kinds; the former seems to be based upon polar deserts, while the latter theme is based upon an erg. Since deserts are referred to as places with low humidity, and both of these landforms fit that description, it's safe to say that this is a mostly fitting name for this level.
- There's a diamond at 89% that is quite hard to notice. Go to the leftmost tile.
- The in-game and album versions of this level's soundtrack have different endings.
- This level's secondary theme, Desert, makes a cameo in The 4th Anniversary.
- The part from 92% to 100% of the level is similar to the end of the level Massif.
- This is the first level to have its name similar to a Dancing Line level, being 'The Desert'.
- Coincidentally, The Desert was released on Dancing Line's initial release.
- Some sections of this level resemble islands, with glass tiles as the surrounding "water".
- This is the only level where a Laser appears on the thumbnail.
- In the thumbnail, you can see that the tiles far away are strangely white instead of blue.
- When it was first released, the end of Desert used to have Large Trees. However, in a later update, they were replaced with Floaters.
